UPDATE FROM CHASE THE CHILL ORGANIZERS 1/20/16: – I know it’s last minute but I had to go through Parks & Rec to get things approved. Due to the upcoming storm, we are pushing the date to start this evening. We will be starting at 4:30 at Evitts Run Park in Charles Town. If you can come help setup, we could really use the help. I would rather get these coats, hat, scarves, etc for those who need it before the storm hits. Thanks to all who have donated and have helped in any way.

Earlier this winter hundreds of people gathered together to participate in Scarves in the Park, an event held at War Memorial Park in Martinsburg, West Virginia. With the goal of providing hats, gloves, coats, scarves and more to those who have struggled to keep warm this year, the number of contributors soared in an incredibly brief period of time. It can be confidently stated that the event was one of the largest the Martinsburg community has seen in a long time.

As 2015 has come to an end and the nights have grown far more brisk and damp, local residents are ready to tackle the ongoing poverty in the region, but this time in the neighboring town of Charles Town!

Chase the Chill, founded in 2008 in Easton, Pennsylvania, strives to generate a positive interest in sharing with others, specifically those in need. The event’s primary focus is to build community in a positive and beneficial environment. The project has received hundreds of donations from people all over the area, and we’re just getting started! With your help, we’re sure that Chase the Chill (Jefferson County) will make an enormous impact, much like its forerunning Martinsburg event!

If you’re interested in contributing to Chase the Chill (Jefferson County), we’re looking for hats, gloves, scarves, socks, coats, toiletries, and large Ziploc bags to put them in.
